Here's how Melissa Joan Hart Maxim photoshoot.

According to the actress, once she was done with the premiere and was being taken to the airport to shoot Scary Movie in Vancouver, she received a dreadful call, telling her she had been fired from the horror comedy film. And I was put in a limo, and I was taken away, and I had just broken up with my boyfriend while we were in the movie, and I’m crying and I’m upset,” the No Good Nick star recalled.

The limo’s driver took a detour and Hart ended up going to the Planet Hollywood afterparty, where her lawyer showed up and added to her suffering.

“My lawyer shows up and goes, ‘You did a photo shoot for Maxim magazine?'” she shared. “I’m like: ‘Yes, I did.’ They’re like, ‘Well, you’re being sued and fired from your show, so don’t talk to the press, don’t do anything.'”

She then got a “phone call on my cellphone from my mother, my producer, who was like, ‘What did you do?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know, whatever my publicist told me to do at the photo shoot. Like, I did a photo shoot for Maxim! It’s Maxim, of course you’re gonna be in your underwear.'”

The Melissa and Joey alum went on to explain that the production house instigated the issue from a line on the cover, reading, “Sabrina, your favorite witch without a stitch,” which they claimed violated her contract with Archie Comics, which prohibited Hart from playing the character [Sabrina] naked.

Breakfast for dinner and four other things

As a strictly savoury supporter, you won’t find me indulging in overly sweet pastries come dinnertime, but you will often find me whipping up mushroom crepes, toast with all the toppings or, as below, omelettes. In August, when tomatoes and peppers and courgettes and all the other colourful things are at their best, a summer garden omelette is the perfect way to start – or end – your day on a seasonal note.

Bursting with a medley of fresh vegetables and aromatic herbs, this omelette is a perfect way to start (or end) your day on a sunny note. The combination of colourful bell peppers, courgette, tomatoes and fragrant basil creates a symphony of tastes that’s as visually appealing as it is delicious. With a hint of melted cheddar cheese and a fluffy egg base, this omelette is a celebration of seasonal produce.Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar and a pinch of black pepper. Set the sauce aside.Heat the vegetable oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium-high heat.Add the minced garlic, chopped red chilli and grated ginger. Stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.Add the julienned or spiralized courgettes to the pan. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften but still retain some crunch.Add the sweetcorn kernels to the pan and cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the cooked egg noodles to the pan. Pour the prepared sauce over the noodles and vegetables.Gently toss everything together to ensure the noodles and vegetables are evenly coated with the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavours to meld.Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt, if needed. Remember that soy sauce is already salty, so be cautious.Remove the pan from the heat and garnish with chopped fresh coriander.

How the Captain Corelli Greek island

Casting the island as a rustically charming and authentically  destination, the story has helped cement Kefalonia’s reputation as a firm holiday favourite among the British. But these days, there’s more to talk about. A crop of smart new openings, from restaurants to retreats, has infused the quiet  with a breath of fresh air; one that’s decidedly more grown-up, sophisticated and three-dimensional.

“One of my early summer memories is the island flooded by Italian tourists, who lived in basic-service rooms and used to pay the rental fee by selling the fish they caught while scuba diving,” says Gavriela Danali, the owner (and interior designer) of the three-bedroom, bohemian-chic  in the sleepy village of Makriotika. “But Kefalonia has been obviously upgraded in the last years, with visitors looking for sophisticated accommodations and fine dining,Kefalonia’s forested, green interior has its charms, but it’s easy to get swept away by the famous beaches. Fifteen minutes from Makriotika is Myrtos, the beach of postcard recognition, with blindingly white pebbles and water the iridescent blue-green of a peacock’s breast, while Sami – another island favourite – is 20 minutes away.

About 45 minutes north of Makriotika is the historic harbour of Fiskardo, perhaps the island’s most upmarket destination, with shiny, celeb-studded yachts, stylish restaurants and Venetian architecture, mercifully left untouched by the 1953 earthquake that ravaged the rest of the island. In 2019, archaeologists discovered a 2,000-year-old Roman shipwreck just off the harbour, its cargo of amphorae spilt across the seabed.

Twist could solve mystery of Lord Lucan’s

He was last seen in the dead of night after being accused of murdering his family’s nanny. Officially, he was declared legally dead in 2016, but whispers of him being spotted hiding in places as far-flung as Africa and Australia have rumbled on for decades.

And now, a facial recognition expert has claimed that an 87-year-old Buddhist monk near Brisbane is a “definite match” for Lord Lucan, who himself would be 87.The suave Earl lived in upmarket Belgravia, in central London, with his wife Veronica and three children, however their marriage collapsed in 1972.Lord Lucan was accused of bludgeoning the family’s nanny, Sandra Rivett, to death with a lead pipe in November 1974.

Lady Lucan was also attacked that night and named her estranged husband as her assailant. His body was never found, leading some to claim the aristocrat “fell on his sword” by drowning himself at sea.Lady Lucan, who herself committed suicide in 2017, said she believed her husband took his own life “like the nobleman he was”.

But possible sightings in Portugal, Africa and Australia all suggest the peer may have faked his own death. One line of inquiry states that Lord Lucan attended a party in the Algarve, in Portugal, in the weeks after Rivett was murdered.

A woman who worked for one of Lord Lucan’s close friends, the casino owner John Aspinall, told the BBC in 2012 how she helped the aristocrat flee to west Africa.

Scientists: Fishing boats compete with whales.

Two huge fishing vessels make their way through the icy waters of the Southern Ocean, passing among a pod of dozens of whales while slowly hauling on board bulging nets hundreds of meters long. The scene recalls a bygone era before commercial whaling was banned. Now, however, the vessels are not fishing whales but whale food: swarms of Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba), a small shrimp-like crustacean at the base of the Southern Ocean food chain.

“In the 20th century they used to follow large swarms of krill to help locate whales,” Matthew Savoca, a research scientist at the Hopkins Marine Station of Stanford University, told Mongabay. “And now potentially the krill fishery is doing the opposite, using whales to find krill.

In February, Savoca co-authored a  in the journal Ecology documenting a similar case that his co-authors had filmed a year earlier near Coronation Island, the largest of the South Orkneys. On that occasion, scientists encountered four trawlers fishing in the presence of what they described as a “remarkably large aggregation of foraging fin whales” numbering about 1,000 animals.

“This has been happening for years,” Savoca said. It’s just what we were able to record. The point of the videos is alerting the scientific world that this is happening and will continue to happen, unless we change our policy about how we fish.

Forever chemicals found in period products.

According to researchers, while these products are designed to make people feel comfortable during their periods, their labels do not usually contain a list of the ingredients. In the study which is awaited for peer-review, researchers analysed more than 100 products for fluorinated compounds — which indicates harmful PFAS.

PFAS are used in household products non-stick cookware, stain repellents, and firefighting foam. They are regarded forever chemicals because they stay in the human bloodstream for a very long time without breaking down.

Earlier studies had already raised concerns about the adverse health impacts of PFAS including the development of cancer cells.

According to the new research, while PFAS are absent from many period products, they might be accidentally or intentionally added to others.Research revealed that PFAS chemicals were also present in additional period products, such as tampons and pads.

Alyssa Wicks from the University of Notre Dame said: "We determined if these products had organic fluorine as a surrogate for PFAS."

Wicks, a graduate student in Dr Peaslee's lab noted: "In general, tampons didn’t seem to contain fluorine. Same with menstrual cups and the layers of pads that come in contact with a person's skin."

According to scientists, they were surprised by the presence of total fluorine in the wrappers for numerous pads, some tampons and the outer layers of some period underwear.

THE BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO THE ASSISTED,

This machine is the single best way to go from zero pull-ups to pull-up hero. Some people will point out that you lose a little range of motion and core engagement with the machine. However, it’s totally worth it if you want to work your way up to doing pull-ups without any assistance.

Choosing the correct amount of weight assistance can involve a little trial and error. You should be able to do a meaningful number of reps (5-10) per set, but you don’t want those reps to be too easy – you should feel the burn at the end of each set. You’re here to build strength, after all! A good spot to start is with around half of your body weight. Work up or down from there until you find the perfect resistance level.

Next, it’s time to choose your grip. Our personal trainers recommend starting with the two parallel handles closest to the midline of your body. Pull-up pros call this the hammer grip, and it will let you get a good assist from your biceps while you develop your other muscles

An often-overlooked benefit of machine-assisted bodyweight exercises is that they let you focus on practicing your form instead of struggling to execute the move. It’s important to build solid habits when you’re first starting out so that you keep the correct form as you work toward an unassisted pull-up.

Throughout the exercise, you’ll want to keep your core muscles contracted. It can be tempting to relax your core since you’re supported by the knee pad, but you need to form a solid base for your arms and back to pull against. Plus, you’ll get way more out of the exercise if you consciously engage your core.

The motion of a pull-up starts at the bottom, with your arms fully extended. From this position, engage your back and arms to pull yourself up until your chin is just above your hands. Focus on keeping your torso straight and your shoulders back. Exhale while your body is in upward motion.
