The launch of the revamped studio was marked by an intimate event in Karachi and attended by several members of the music fraternity including drummer Gumby, guitar god Omran Shafique, Immu from Fuzon, bassist Kamran ‘Mannu’ Zafar, plus singers Nazia Zuberi (Rushk) and Natasha Khan. The presence of such musicians also led to an impromptu jam session.
The new studio is designed “by a promising new architect, Quratulain” notes the press statement. As for what the studio offers to the industry, it is, according to the press release, “the only audio recording and post production facility in Pakistan designed by a renowned international studio design company, with a track record of designing and making award winning professional studios globally. The studio designer JH Brandt ensured that the studio
provides a perfect tracking and mixing environment at par with best international studios.
Kashan’s role in the music industry remains under the radar but over the years he has worked with the likes of Strings, Usman Riaz and has released two records with his band Mizmaar. Having taken a break from producing a new album, the music group returned with new music after a seven-year hiatus and has plans to work on a third record.Kashan also contributed significantly to Coke Studio 9 whle making his debut on the show in 2016 as part of the houseband and worked with the likes of Abida Parveen, Ali Sethi, Ali Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Zeb Bangash, Ahmed Jahanzeb, Umair Jaswal and Meesha Shafi, among others.
